This is great way to get started into the exciting world of 3D printing and 2D milling. Creating your own printer was cumbersome in the past, large expensive drivers and limited software to share. That's all changed, anything you build with this bundle can be shared with the online community and someone else can build what you built but with their own twist. Each printer or milling machine is unique in its capabilities, size and features. No more taking what you can get and working with it, now its make what you want and move forward. Typical power supplies for this would be a 12 volt DC 5 AMP (without a heated bed) power supply, after all the power supply is half of the circuit, without a dependable power supply it will not work properly consistently. If you are going to use a heated bed then 15 amps minimum up to 20 amps at 12 volts. RAMPS WIKI page mentions to keep the input voltage to less then 15 volts DC.

The MEGA clone included with the bundle is a clone board that has worked very well in the past so we have no hesitation recommending it for this bundle, of course we would be happy to upgrade you to an authentic MEGA for the extra cost. But that might make you stay under the speed limit so not to damage your MEGA, the clone lets you say, what the heck, lets see what happens as we turn up the juice!

I should mention that fire will most likely result from pushing the limits so make sure you wear eye protection and keep a fire extinguisher at hand. Safety first, then impressive acts of total destruction.

This board is equipped to drive a dual extruder's, who will ever need more then 2 extruders? Did I mention this is well suited to smaller 3D printers under 3 feet square.
