These magnetic switch sets are normally used in home security systems. Attach half this set on a window or door frame and the other half to the window or door itself. When a door or window opens and the contact is broken it triggers an alarm.
When the magnet pieces comes within 20mm of each other they complete the circuit with the internal reed switches. The set is housed in strong ABS plastic. (screws included) Can easily be mounted to most surfaces. Double sided tape is an option if you have a vinyl frame you do not want holes in.
