Overview

This Arduino Compatible Stepper Motor Driver Controller Board uses L298N Driver IC. DATA SHEET

Stepper Motor in photo is not included.

This is a small simple motor driver PCB with an integrated driver IC. The L298N driver IC has been used in printers for a very long time, it helped reduce the cost of home printers when it was introduced. All of the parts to drive a motor or motors from a simple logic input have been incorporated into one device.

Now you can use the same IC to drive your motor/motors or stepper motor.

Any DC device such as a light or horn could also be driven using the same module.

Integrated protection diodes are included on the PCB to clamp reverse electro magnetic pulse's.

Use standard female jumpers to connect logic inputs. Use the 5 volt pin as supply if you need a regulated supply.

2 on board jumpers allow the enable pins to be always enabled. 10 and 11 indicate where these jumpers are.

To make a motor turn in one direction, pin 3 should be high and pin 5 lo, to reverse the direction, Pin 3 should be lo and pin 5 high. Best to set both low before setting one of them high to avoid conflict.

You can remove these jumpers and use your Arduino or other logic to enable and disable each output pair (of which there are 2 in the L298N).
