Can drive up to four (
expandable to eight) seven-segment displays that are anywhere from 1.5 to 25 volts (100mA per segment), with an onboard voltage regulator!
Counts up, and counts down.
Has a low voltage clock input to trigger a count from external means.
Has a zero value output; when it reaches zero, you can trigger an event.
Has a carry/comparitor output, to control another counter or device. The comparitor value is like the zero event output, but its a setable number. Say you wanted to be notified when the count has reached 500, then the comparitor value is 500, and the output is triggered when it is reached.
Uses a 485 interface to allow the clearing, setting, and reading of all 8 displays. Each display can be assigned a unique ID: 0 - 9. Has a comparator out and zero out with open collector outputs.
Adjustable onboard power supply from 1.5 volts to a volt below the input supply which could be up to 30 volts!
All settings are contained within EEROM, and can be setup from any TTY program. All eight major flags can be read and/or written at once, so you don't need to go through all the menus to change one value.
Can run multiple VK012's on one bus!
**Remember, this version only ships with support for four digits. For eight digits, you need the expander.**
